BBC pundit Rachel Corsie was left "devastated" after Scotland crashed out of Euro 2024 in dramatic circumstances.

The Tartan Army suffered a 1-0 defeat to Hungary on Sunday following a last-minute goal from Kevin Csoboth.

They subsequently finished fourth in Group A with no chance of progressing to the knockouts.

The outcome means Scotland Women's captain Corsie will no longer feature as a pundit for BBC Sport.

She took to social media on Monday evening to confirm that she would be returning to the UK.

Corsie wrote: "Devastated to be going home. Very grateful to
@BBCSport for my @EURO2024 experience.

"Also, thanks to everyone for your kind support ????."

The Scotland star was critical of the decision not to give Steve Clarke's side a penalty against Hungary after Stuart Armstrong appeared to be fouled by Willi Orban in the box.

She said: "It’s a clear penalty. If the referee is choosing not to give that decision as a penalty, he must have not seen it clearly."

However, she praised Hungary manager Marco Rossi for his tactical approach to the match.

Corsie continued: "Hungary clearly have done their homework.

"They obviously felt if you allow Scotland to have the ball they'll struggle to break you down and create clear opportunities."

Corsie plays for Aston Villa in the Women's Super League.
