NICK Knowles faced the wrath of die-hard foodies as he revealed his quirky choice of pancake topping.
The DIY SOS host, 60, stunned viewers of The One Show as he admitted his gloopy, savoury selection.
Nick told BBC show hosts Lauren Laverne and Jermaine Jenas his choice - to which the former footballer recoiled in horror.
Talking of Pancake Day toppings, he said his favourite is: "Gravy."
Justifying his unorthodox selection, a sauce which is usually poured on top of everything from chips to roast dinners, the presenter insisted: "I know it’s a big call – even in America they would think that’s bold.

"But if you think about it it’s the same recipe for a Yorkshire pudding so it’s only a flat Yorkshire pudding."
In an attempt to show tradition is still followed in the Knowles household, he added: "My eight-year-old Eddie this evening is having lemon and sugar and that’s how he likes them."
Telly favourite Nick is dad to four children.
The presenters remained unconvinced about his snack - and so did viewers at home.
Host Jermaine chipped in and said: "I don’t know if people are going to see it that way," when referring to Nick's Yorkshire Pudding comparison.
One took to Twitter to write: "It's a thing according to Nick Knowles, who counts pancakes as just flat Yorkshire puddings. Not sure myself, but each to their own."
Another put: "Nick Knowles takes his pancakes with gravy. Just deport him ffs."
Pancake Day - or Shrove Tuesday - comes the day before Ash Wednesday.
As well as eating pancakes, it is also a day of confession when Christians were "shriven" - meaning absolved from their sins.
It is celebrated 47 days before Easter Sunday, so the date varies year to year, but it always falls on a Tuesday.

It is considered the final day of indulgence, when eggs and fats can be used up, before the 40-day period of Lent, traditionally a time of fasting.
