Camila Cabello has opened up about using dating apps and trying to find a “spicy night” at Coachella after admitting she lost her virginity to a This Morning star.
The 27-year-old said she had no intimate experience when she met dating guru Matthew Hussey six years ago. Camila and Matthew, who offers guests his 'Ultimate Guide to Dating Do's and Dont's', were together for a year before they split in 2019.
She went on to date fellow singer Shawn Mendes later that year, with the pair confirming they had split in 2021. Camila was then said to be dating tech CEO Austin Kevitch, but the pair reportedly went their separate ways in February 2023.
Now, the Havana singer has revealed she has been single for “way too long” and decided to turn to dating apps as “practice” for meeting men. However, she confessed she was not a massive fan, and found the apps “unsexy”.
Speaking on Therapuss with Jake Shane, Camila said: “I’ve been working since I was, like, 15 so it's just been a lot of time of working and I feel like I need just the practice of texting guys and I don't know, maybe we go for a walk or something or, you know.
Millions blocked from iconic iPhone app forever after 10 years in major shutdown“I've only really done the dating app dates like two or three times. Maybe one time it has been fun and worth it.
“But yeah, I feel like there’s something not sexy about the dynamic, like it being a secret or whatever there's that stuff and I feel like there's something so unsexy about dating apps being like, ‘I think you're attractive, you think I'm attractive, let us date and see if we are a match and if we do get married and procreate’.”
Camila, who rose to fame as part of Fifth Harmony, went on to explain she would prefer to meet a man at a party. She even tried to find a guy, unsuccessfully, at the Coachella music festival.
She added: “At least if you're at a party you're like, ‘oh my God does he like me? Oh my God, like, are we friends?' Those are the hottest hook-ups.”
Podcast host Jake explained he had “one night” that was like that. He added: “We were flirting the whole night. I've never experienced that before in my life and I was like ‘oh this is a vibe’.”
Camila replied: “I want that more than I want a boyfriend right now. I feel like I've been single for way too long, like, I'm trying but it's hard, I'm p****d about it too.
“I’m not even p****d about not having a boyfriend, I'm p****d about, like, where are those spicy nights? Because I was looking for them at Coachella.”
Jake quipped that Coachella was “not the place” to find a man. Camila is set to play Glastonbury’s Other Stage at 6.45pm tonight.
