Summer might be around the corner but some parts of the UK are still experiencing freezing weather conditions and at the beginning of June - and some areas could be even colder than Norway.
Weather maps from WXCharts show 7C in the Norwegian capital of Oslo at 6am on Tuesday, June 4, while parts of the Scottish Highlands will be five degrees lower. The maps show increased temperatures further south, with 6-8C in Northumberland and Cumbria, 10C in Merseyside, and 9C along the coast of Lincolnshire.
The Midlands, parts of Wales and the South of England could see temperatures vary from 9C in Kent, 10C in Pembrokeshire and 9C in East Anglia. The top temperature for that time and date looks is likely to be in Cornwall, where the mercury could reach 14C, according to WX Charts.
Temperatures look set to climb two or three degrees higher during the day, with 14C in the Highlands and 16C in the Midlands, East Anglia and parts of southern England by 6pm, reported the Express. While WXCharts' minimum temperature chart shows the mercury dropping to single figures for the start of the week commencing June 4, the Met Office's long-range forecast says a longer spell of more settled, dry weather may be on the cards, especially in the southeast.
But those jetting off for a holiday abroad can expect completely different weather conditions, especially in Portugal and Spain where the mercury could hit 40C next week. In Spain, Britain's favourite holiday destination, the mercury will float between 18C in the far north of the country and a scorching 38C in southern areas. On Wednesday, the particular hotspots will be Seville, which could see 37C, and Badajoz on the Portuguese border, which could see 36C.

The mercury in Malaga will be around the high 20s and low 30s.
And according to WXCharts, Portugal is also expected to experience very warm temperatures next week, with the Algarve experiencing 37C on Wednesday and 38C on Thursday. Lisbon and Porto are also set for temperatures in the mid-30s - similar to Braga, which is located in the northern, usually cooler part of the country.
Meanwhile, in the UK temperatures will not be anywhere near as high and although most days are expected to be dry, there will still be some rain around. Over the Bank Holiday weekend, the Met Office said a "typical springtime mix of weather" is likely, with sunshine, showers and some longer spells of rain possible for some.
The long-range forecast from May 30 to June 8 says most of the UK will experience "sunny spells and showers", with heavy downpours in some areas. The forecast adds: "Moving into the weekend, conditions will become more settled as high pressure builds in from the west.
"A few showers could still develop, particularly in the north, but for many it will become increasingly dry with spells of sunshine. For the week that follows, there are no particularly strong signals for a particular type of weather to dominate.
"Overall, the south of the UK will probably be drier, with focus for showers or rainfall tending to be across the north. Temperatures will probably be around normal or a little above for the time of year."
