Liverpool are preparing to enter a new era next season, following the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp.
Arne Slot has been confirmed as Klopp's replacement, with the Dutchman making the move to Anfield from Feyenoord, while Michael Edwards has returned to the club and Richard Hughes has been named as their new sporting director.
Liverpool won the League Cup last season and will be hoping to build on that success over the summer, with the Reds expected to be active in the transfer market. With that in mind, here are the latest headlines involving the club.
Slot verdict
PEC Zwolle star Bram van Polen believes Slot will be a success at Liverpool, hailing his ability to "get the best out of players".
Slot's final years as a player were spent at Zwolle, with the Dutchman joining the coaching staff after he retired. "Slot has a lot of good qualities as a coach," Van Polen said. "I knew even when he was still a player that he would be good.
Jurgen Klopp's approach with Robert Lewandowski bodes well for Darwin Nunez"He knew how to get the best out of players and that turned out to be so true once he got the chance to build his own team."
Barcelona target Diaz
According to Spanish publication AS, Barcelona are eyeing a potential swoop for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz this summer.
The report states that Barcelona's sporting director Deco is a huge fan of the 27-year-old and that he has already held talks with Diaz's representatives over a move. Barcelona are said to be expecting 'tough negotiations' from Liverpool.
When Diaz made the move to Anfield in 2022, Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted they had been in the running for his signature. "At that time, we had just arrived at the club but Liverpool beat us to it," he told Mundo Deportivo.
Slot's Mourinho clash
Slot infamously clashed with former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho during his time at Feyenoord.
Speaking before his side met Mourinho's Roma in the Europa League last season, Slot said he prefers watching Pep Guardiola's teams to Mourinho's. "If I watch Pep's teams, I know I may learn a thing or two," he said.
"There are always great details in his attacking and attractive style." Mourinho then angrily hit back at Slot in the tunnel, telling him to study his teams if the Dutchman wants to win more trophies.
