Shoppers have praised a chic hanging egg chair, hailing it as the "most comfortable garden chair ever". The Elements Peacock Hanging Egg Chair from Dunelm, which boasts a striking Peacock hue, is a hit for those looking to spruce up their outdoor areas.

This weatherproof chair features a powder-coated steel frame and according to Dunelm, the £199 investment is "suitable for use all year round and is sure to last you for years to come". It has garnered an impressive average of 4.9 stars out of 5 based on over 130 reviews, reports the Express.

One customer wrote: "This is the most comfortable garden chair I've ever sat in." Another satisfied buyer remarked: "Been looking for over a year, tried out a lot for comfort, style, and value for money and this has ticked all the boxes. Over the moon with this egg chair."

"Love the colour, the comfort the size, the cushions are lovely and thick, unlike some egg chair cushions I have sat in. I am a very happy customer 5 Stars for quality, plus speedy delivery."

Another added: "A lovely vibrant colour that is so cheerful in the garden. It is very good quality and super comfortable. Very good chair for the price."

However, not everyone was pleased, with one review giving the product a single star, criticising its safety: "The egg chair post is in two parts that is secured by a retaining bolt also a through bolt and nut, this isn't adequate to stop movement and should be considered unsafe."

One customer gave it three stars, adding: "Beautiful looking chair, great colour. Comfortable cushions. The downside is the actual chair is quite small compared to others I have had and so therefore not as comfortable. Cannot curl up in this one for an afternoon nap as chair not deep enough."

It is worth noting too that the item is delivered flatpacked so it will require assembly. Elsewhere, Amazon also sells a range of similar products like the Samuel Alexander Grey Hanging Egg Chair, which is a little bit cheaper at £169.95.

On that product, one reviewer said: "Lovely chair and just so very comfortable, great that it came with a cover as it hasn't stopped raining since! Husband put it together quite easily, seems to be very sturdy - it's outside at the moment and will go in the conservatory in the winter."

"Only one negative which is easily solved - the chain is just a bit too short so bought another 1/2 metre heavy-duty chain at our local ironmonger."

If you're looking for something more spacious, Wayfair also has a double version of a hanging egg chair, although it’s quite a bit pricier at £799.99.
