Anya Taylor-Joy's husband "accidentally" popped the question on the iconic 'Forrest Gump' bench.
The 28-year-old actress secretly said 'I do' to 30-year-old musician Malcolm McRae in April 2022, and she spilled that her other half had no clue they were sat on the famous spot from the Tom Hanks classic when he proposed the previous year.
Chatting for a Letterboxd feature with her 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' co-star Chris Hemsworth, Anya gushed: "Forrest Gump, I love that movie, I miss movies like that. Just huge, epic sagas where you just feel every emotion under the sun and there's like this beautiful poetry underneath it. I love it."

Chris queried: "Did something special happen on the Forrest Gump bench?" Anya revealed: "Yes. My husband accidentally proposed to me on the Forrest Gump bench in Savannah. Complete accident and he's a boy from Alabama. And I'm blonde.

The pair only had two pals present and didn't even invite their parents to the ceremony. She recently confessed to Variety: "We took our two best friends. It was magical ... Malcolm FaceTimed his family from the church. We were like: 'Hi!' but they knew [about the wedding].
"We were engaged for a little while ... We got engaged while I was shooting [film] 'The Menu' [in 2021]." They kept the engagement hush-hush from everyone except their nearest and dearest until their news was spilled.
She revealed: "We kept it a secret from our friends until some newspaper blew it up." The smitten couple, who hadn't been together for long before deciding to tie the knot, shared: "When you know, you know." Anya and Malcolm later celebrated with a grand wedding bash in Venice, Italy, inviting 150 guests such as Cara Delevingne, Julia Garner, and Nicholas Hoult, half a year after their initial nuptials. Anya expressed her fondness for eloping, saying: "It was for us. It was romantic.".
