Everybody loves a good bargain, and if something has a yellow sticker discount it's a real win-win.
That's why one man decided to dress up as a discounted sandwich, and some hailed it as the "perfect" costume. However, others were left baffled at the stingy discount that he opted to put on it.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) @nocontextbrits joked: "The perfect fancy dress doesn't exi..." as they shared a snap of a man dressed as a Tesco egg and cress sarnie - and people were left in stitches.
The 'sandwich' originally retailed for £1.40, and many were shocked to see that it didn't have much money off, as it was still £1.26 after the yellow sticker discount.
One person commented: "14p off is jokes." Another wrote: "14p my friends, 14p," while sharing a zoomed-in snap of the reduced sticker. This joke is of course reminiscent of all the times you've gone into the supermarket, clocked a yellow discount sticker, only to realise a measly amount of money has been taken off the original price - despite the fact it's imminently out of date.
London, New York and Europe welcome New Year; plus pics from around the worldOne person said the fancy dress option was definitely "unique", with another saying it was "hilarious", suggesting that it could be the "best Halloween dress" for this October. Someone agreed, writing: "I think your costume will definitely defeat many people on Halloween."
Another X user joked it might be a "marketing" ploy by the supermarket, saying: "'We have the perfect marketing job for you. You will be the centre of attention'." Someone else said he showed "dedication" with the costume.
And a Tesco worker hilariously wrote: "I have to put those bloody stickers on in work every day. If someone turned up to my party like that throw em out."
