A rumour suggesting Pete Davidson is dating rapper Ice Spice gained so much traction on Twitter that it started trending, despite it being fake.
According to TMZ, the rumour started out as a joke, however, it quickly blew up on the social media site.
It came from a post on Instagram meme account, @itsfinisher, which had created an image with side-by-side photos of Pete and Ice Spice with the text: "Pete Davidson is now dating NYC rapper Ice Spice".
However, the account had added a disclaimer to the post in the caption section, stating it was a satirical post "for entertainment purposes only."
Yet it was enough to fuel the rumour mill, with the post making its way to Twitter, where one user wrote: “please don’t tell me that ice spice is really with pete davidson.”
