A COUNCIL painted new double lines so badly that residents thought it was a prank.
The lines were supposed to solve parking woes, but locals are now calling for the "shabby" paint job to be fixed.
Those living on Nottingham's Wood Lane say it's been a problem parking spot for years.
And, after asking the public what they thought, the Nottinghamshire County Council took action - painting single and double yellow lines.
But locals were shocked to see the uneven road and even drains had been painted over.

Kieran Kelly, 70, who lives just off Wood Lane, said: "It's a poor job for people who pay quite a lot of council tax.
"Yellow lines have been on the cards for some time and now they're here, it looks like they need doing again."
Kieran said the workers who painted the road should have swept away the debris before starting on the yellow lines.
He continued: "Instead, they bombed over leaves, twigs, stones and whatever else was in the way.
"They have even painted over the drains. We just feel that it's a very shabby job for an area that we want to be smartening up."
David Reffin, 60, lives nearby and was walking his dog when he saw the new yellow lines.
He said: "I thought the residents had actually painted these lines on themselves because it doesn't look like a council job.
"It wouldn't have surprised me either because they don't like people parking along the road up here, so I could see the people here painting their own road lines.
"I was surprised that the council had actually been out and done this."
Another resident, who did not want to be named, said: "We were actually on holiday when this was being done and so we came home to this.

"I thought some students had been around doing these as a prank or something when I saw the lines.
"It's not just about clearing the debris beforehand, they should have properly levelled out the Tarmac before painting the lines because it's an uneven surface and that's why it looks the way it does.
"It definitely needs the council to come back out and do a proper job."
The council said it had been made aware of the "poor workmanship" and planned to get it fixed up.
Local Conservative councillors Sam Smith and Mike Adams wrote a joint statement on Facebook about the issue, saying: "The right-hand side of Wood Lane is in our ward.
"Mike Adams as our county councillor has escalated this poor workmanship to Nottinghamshire County Council's Highways Department in an attempt to get them redone."
