However, while the show's setting is dreamy in its own right, actress Claire Goose revealed that getting there may not be so pleasant.

Claire is known for playing Tina Seabrook in the BBC medical drama Casualty for three years.

The actress shared the horrifying experience she had getting to the Death in Paradise set when she was a guest star in 2015.

"It was Guadeloupe, it was a lovely, wonderful place, it was amazing, it was amazing, it was a truly amazing experience to go and do it," the speaker said.

She continued: "But I do remember it being one of the most terrifying flights.

The actress explained that when she had to fly to Paris and then change planes, they "aborted landing" three times.

"So they kept coming down because it was so turbulent and they would just almost hit the runway and take off again, go round," she added.

Claire also shared that the situation was so terrifying that "people were praying" next to her.

She then went on to recall: "So then you go from Paris and then we're all like, 'I don't want to get back on a plane and go to Guadeloupe, I've just nearly died."

"So all I saw was very traumatised actors picking up their luggage going, 'I don't really want to go now'."

Death in Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
