During the last episode, Catherine was stunned to discover that someone had been taking her grandson to the prison where his father Tommy Lee Royce was being held.

With Catherine unaware that he had been transported to a prison in Sheffield from down south, it became clear that someone had been taking Ryan to see his father after it was confirmed that he was accompanied by a man and a woman.

During tonight's episode, Catherine was horrified to discover that it could be her very own sister Clare, played by Siobhan Finneran, who had been accompanying Ryan on the prison visits.

However, it was something else entirely that stirred up talk on Twitter.

As Catherine decided to follow Clare, who had told her sister she was off to Leeds, Catherine quickly realised she was heading for Sheffield.

Once in the South Yorkshire city, Catherine watched Clare enter a cafe and then phoned her to ask her about her current whereabouts in a bid to catch her out.

But fans of the show were left 'triggered' as they noticed that Bolton in Greater Manchester was the real filming location and was being passed off as Sheffield.

One fan wrote online: "Fobbing off Bolton as Sheffield on #HappyValley has got me triggered af."

Another echoed: Supposed to be in Leeds, thinks she’s in Sheffield but actually in Bolton… #HappyValley"

A third penned: "Love that Claire was in Leeds but it was really Sheffield but it was actually Bolton #HappyValley."

With a fourth adding: "Love a bit of Bolton town centre doubling up as Sheffield! #HappyValley"

The episode ended on a dramatic cliffhanger with Catherine about to confront her sister about the shocking betrayal.
