BAKE Off judge Prue Leith has revealed Friends actor David Schwimmer 'didn't want to talk to anyone' while filming the celebrity edition of the Channel 4 show.

The Ross Gellar actor, 56, is the most famous name to have ever taken part in the Stand Up 2 Cancer charity special, and he didn't take it lightly.

Prue told the Mirror: "Well, he must have been the most famous person we had in the tent. And I was very excited about it.

"What I was surprised about, though, was I thought he'd behave like he behaved as Ross, he'd be like he was in Friends, but he was actually very concentrated and didn't want to talk to anybody.

"He just wanted to get on baking and he badly wanted to win. He loosened up after a while."

David became a global superstar in the 90s alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc in US sitcom Friends.

He has also starred on the big screen as the voice of goofy giraffe Melman in the hit animated franchise Madagascar.

The decision to take part in Bake Off was a personal one following the deaths of his grandmother, and ex-wife Zoe Buckman's mum, from cancer. His sister is also a cancer survivor.

In the special, David says he is a big fan of the show and wants to have fun in the famous white tent while raising awareness and money for a cancer charity.

Joining him on the special is ex-Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, Loose Women stars Coleen Nolan and Judi Love as well as Towie legend Gemma Collins.

Hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas - who recently quit the show - are back to welcome the celebrity bakers into the Bake Off tent.

Over two days they will be challenged to put their baking skills to the test to impress Paul Hollywood and Prue in the signature, technical and showstopper challenges.

The full line-up includes actor David, comedian Tom Davis, actress, BAFTA nominated comedian, writer and actor Rose Matafeo, singer and songwriter Jesy Nelson, TV presenter Jay Blades MBE, stand-up comic Judi Love, actor, comedian and writer Mike Wozniak, businesswoman and investor in Dragons Den Deborah Meaden.

Also making an appearance is comedian, actor and presenter Ellie Taylor, media personality and businesswoman Gemma Collins, poet, actor, comedian, screenwriter and radio personality Tim Key, TV presenter AJ Odudu, actress Jessica Hynes, TV presenter Paddy McGuinness, singer, author and TV personality Coleen Nolan.

Joining them is actor and comedian Joe Thomas, Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley OBE, actor and filmmaker David Morrissey, stand-up, comedy actress and writer Lucy Beaumont, and broadcaster and radio presenter Adele Roberts.

Comic Matt Lucas made his final appearance as host on the hit Channel 4 baking show on Christmas Eve.

The 48-year-old announced he was stepping down as co-presenter - saying it was no longer possible to continue amid other work commitments.

In a statement at the time, the Little Britain star said: "Farewell Bake Off! It's been a delicious experience and I can't imagine a more fun way of spending my summers.

"But it's become clear to me that I can't present both Fantasy Football League and Bake Off alongside all my other projects.

"So, after three series and 51 episodes, I am cheerfully passing the baguette on to someone else.

"I would like to give my warmest thanks and gratitude to everyone at Love Productions and Channel 4 and to Noelipops, Paul, Dame Prue, the crew and, of course, the wonderful bakers for welcoming me into the tent.

"I wish whoever takes over the very best and I can't wait to tune into the next series without already knowing who won!"

Stand Up To Cancer is a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, with more than £93million raised in the UK to date.
