But in March 2023, it was revealed he had a daughter he never knew about, with actress Jennifer Hill.
Who is Jennifer Hill?
Born in Port Talbot in 1936, Jennifer Hill is a Welsh actress.
Over the years she has starred in many TV shows and films.
Her biggest claim to fame was playing the ambassador's wife in the 1983 James Bond movie Octopussy.

Jennifer was married to the late screen star Geoffrey Davion, who appeared in Miss Marple and The Stars Look Down.
Her daughter Abi Harris believed he was her father until his death in 1996.
How did Jennifer Hill meet David Jason?
It is understood Sir David Jason and Jennifer met in the late 60s, when the actress was in her 30s.
They had a brief romance after meeting when they both starred in Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood at London’s May Fair theatre.
It is reported by The Mirror that Sir David met their daughter Abi after she was born, but the pair had no idea who each other were.
In 2008, Jennifer and Sir David were reunited for a reprisal of Under Milk Wood, with their daughter also starring alongside them.
It wasn't until years later that Abi started suspecting that the Darling Buds Of May star was her father.
A paternity test in 2022, revealed this to be the case.

Speaking about finding out Abi was his daughter, Sir David told The Mirror: "To say it was a surprise to find out I had a daughter from years ago is an understatement.
"However, on settling with the news, I am delighted that I am now able to get to know Abi and so we meet up when we can."
Who is Abi Harris?
Abi Harris was born in 1970, and is an actress who is known for her voice work.
She is also a mum, and has a young son called Charlie, who is believed to have been born in 2013.
Speaking about finding out Sir David was her father, she told The Mirror: "In discovering my father’s identity, I am starting to piece together my own.
"Of course, I am tickled pink and incredibly proud but, frequently, completely overwhelmed with sorrow for the years we have lost.
"After a measured start, now I hope we can consciously make time to see each other more often, so that I can master the art of being the best big sister and build a meaningful father-daughter relationship in its truest sense."
