THIS is the story of Sir David Jason's whirlwind relationship with the mother of his long-lost daughter who found him after five decades apart.
Only Fools and Horses star Sir Jason, 83, was unaware that he had a child by an actress he dated for a short time in the early 1970s until she contacted him and a paternity test was carried out.
Sir David met Jennifer Hill, the mother of his newly-found child, in 1970 at the age of 30, when they starred together in Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood at the Mayfair Theatre in London.
The couple came together six years after Sir David's first marriage ended in 1964.
They enjoyed a short romance, which ended before the birth of their child that same year.

The Only Fools legend then dated Carole Collins, sister of rock icon Phil, in the early '70s before enjoying an 18-year relationship with Welsh actress Myfanwy Talog.
After her tragic death from breast cancer in 1995, Sir David met Gill Hinchcliffe, who gave birth to his daughter Sophie Mae in 2001, when he was 61 years old.
He and Gill married in 2005 and still live together in Ellenborough, Buckinghamshire.
It comes after Sir David reunited with his secret daughter by Jennifer Hill.
Now-52-year-old Abi Harris has been welcomed into the family after discovering that he was her dad.
The TV star also learned the exciting news that he has a 10-year-old grandson, named Charlie.
He said he had no idea about Abi until recently.
He told The Mirror: "To say it was a surprise to find out I had a daughter from years ago is an understatement.
"However, on settling with the news, I am delighted that I am now able to get to know Abi and so we meet up when we can.
"My wife, Gill, and daughter, Sophie, have been very supportive and understanding and have embraced Abi and welcomed her and her young son into her now wider family."

Abi herself has revealed the hidden detail that led her to discover her dad's identity after 52 years apart.
Meanwhile, her parents themselves reunited to perform the same play through which they met, with Abi starring alongside them, in 2008.
