Hairy Biker Dave Myers reunites with Si King after 'brutal' chemotherapy

Hairy Bikers Si King and Dave Myers reunited to chat about their new book, to the delight of fans, after Dave spoke of the terrible toll of his chemotherapy treatment.

The TV star was diagnosed last year and shared the news on his podcast with fellow Hairy Biker Si, admitting that he had been unwell and had to start chemotherapy.

And he recently opened on the side effects of his treatment, describing it as "brutal".

Si and Dave looked happy to be in each other's company as they chatted in an Instagram video about their upcoming book, Eat Well Every Day.

After initially starting his treatment, Dave lost his hair and signature beard but recently took to social media to share a snap taken from a night out with his family – sporting his full beard again.

And the beard was on full display in the new Instagram video, while he a paisley shirt with his sleeves rolled up. The pair chatted at a wooden table, with Si sporting a dark blue shirt.

The duo discussed their favourite recipes from the book, with Dave opting for a lamp kofta, and Si a sweet potato curry.

Speaking about the book, they said: "Just because you're eating well for your body and mind doesn't mean it has to be boring food, because it doesn't."

Fans of the TV chefs were certainly pleased to see Dave looking well and with his pal.

One person said on Instagram: "Looking well Mr Myers! Long may it continue!"

A second wrote: Dave, you look gorgeous... please tell us you are on the mend. Xxx."

A third fan penned: "So so so chuffed and delighted you two top Geordies together doing what you do best."

Speaking on the Seasoned podcast this week, Dave said of his cancer treatment: "It's funny when you first start chemotherapy, it's quite hard – I'm still having it, it was really brutal.

"I lost so much weight and then it's a battle to get your calories in."

He went on to say: "At first I thought, 'Right, this is great, I can eat all those pies I haven't been eating for years', except [my] appetite was dreadful!

"For me, a glutton, losing my appetite was awful, a can of soup was about as far as I could go.

"Now I've got to the point where I'm at the weight I want to be, and I want to maintain it."

Dave has previously opened up on the side effects of chemotherapy, telling Kaye Adams: "By God, the chemotherapy doesn't half age you quickly. Your balance goes, so for someone with a motorbike that's a disaster, and my walking has been affected quite a lot, really."

Speaking on the How To Be 60 podcast, Dave said he has "no symptoms" of his cancer and was merely just affected bu the chemotherapy.
