Sophie Turner has pleaded with fans to remove any recirculating videos of her daughter Willa after she accidentally shared a clip of the child on Instagram.

The former Game of Thrones actress took to her Instagram Stories with a statement that explained that she'd made an "honest mistake" in sharing the clip of her child that she shares with Joe Jonas.

Willa was born in July 2020 and since then, Sophie and Joe have welcomed another unnamed child, born in July last year.

In her statement, Sophie said that she wants her children to "grow up out of the public eye" and "to learn and grow in private."

“Earlier today I made an honest mistake accidentally posting a video of our daughter on Instagram Stories,” she wrote. “We have always advocated for our kids’ rights to privacy so sharing this publicly is something that is against anything I stand for.

"Our children deserve the right to grow up out of the public eye, to learn and grow in private."

Sophie went on to say that should the mistake happen in future, fans should know that it is "unquestionably a mistake" and asked fans and other platforms to delete the footage.

“If I ever were to post anything of our kids, know that it is unquestionably a mistake. I would greatly appreciate if anyone who has reposted on any other platform, please delete the video," she concluded.

The statement comes after both Sophie and Joe skipped the Met Gala which took place on Monday 1st May. The theme for the evening was dedicated to the late Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld and was titled Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.

Fans were treated to outlandish looks from Lil Nas X, Dua Lipa and Sophie's former co-star Bella Ramsey. Rapper Doja Cat and actor Jared Leto payed homage to Karl's beloved cat Choupette and dressed as the pampered feline.

Joe and Sophie attended the Met Gala last year and wore coordinated Louis Vuitton looks. At the time, Sophie was pregnant with their second child.
