Jet2 accused him of “being aggressive, illicitly consuming alcohol, intimidation towards other customers, suspected handling of illegal substances and urinating inside the cabin”.
Holidaymakers were delayed overnight while the plane was deep-cleaned before their flight to the Canary isle the following day.

Jet2 managing director Phil Ward said: “Mr Forrest’s behaviour was absolutely disgraceful.
“We would like to apologise to all of our customers on board and colleagues who have been impacted.
“As a family- friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to such behaviour and we would like to thank the Portuguese authorities for their assistance in offloading Mr Forrest.
"As we have done before, we will now vigorously pursue Mr Forrest for all the costs that we incurred as a result of this diversion, as well as banning him for life.
“We have a very busy summer coming ahead and the safety and well-being of everyone on board our flights is paramount.”
Police in Portugal confirmed they had removed a passenger from the plane in Faro.
Forrest was not arrested but missed out on his holiday and stayed at the airport for a couple of nights before flying home.
At his home in Beith, Ayrshire, Forrest — who returned on a Ryanair service — apologised for his behaviour.
He admitted he was drunk but denied urinating.

“I agree that I was drinking that secretly. I was very much drunk. I was just drinking too much.
“They said I was endangering the aircraft, but I wasn’t. I was already drinking the vodka prior to that, but that’s why I poured it out because I couldn’t drink it.”
When asked by The Scottish Sun’s reporter if he wanted to apologise, Forrest said: “Yes, definitely. I had far too much to drink.”
When informed that Jet2 would be pursuing him for the costs, Forrest said: “I’m not working, so I wouldn’t know how I’d be able to pay anything back.”
