There is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes, plus a slightly smaller second bedroom and a large family bathroom.

With a back garden to boot, it seems on the surface to be the ideal family home.

But potential buyers viewing the property online have noticed a flaw: how messy the house is.

The uninviting gallery photos showcase dirty plates on the work surface in the kitchen and used pans on the stove.

Unfolded clothes are piled high on the furniture.

And crumpled sheets sit unmade on the beds in both bedrooms - with wine and beer lingering on one of the family home's windowsills.

One home hunter expressed his disgust on social media.

They said: "What the hell is wrong with some of these, so called agents?

“Seriously? You should be ashamed.

“Food still on the plate in the kitchen. Disgusting.”

The house in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire is being sold by Castles estate agents and being sold via Rightmove.

The property's online description makes no shameful reference to its shoddy appearance.

Instead, it waxes lyrical over the range of attractive features its future buyer will be sure to enjoy.

It reads: “Castles are delighted to offer to the market this alluring freehold two bedroom home with the benefits of a private garden area, allocated parking, double glazing and gas central heating.

“In excellent condition throughout and with the benefit of its position in ever popular Fields End.

“An appointment to view is a must to appreciate this property.

“Fields End is a desirable development that is close to both Potten End. Potten End is a beautiful countryside village with its popular school, village hall, village green, cricket club and two public houses."
