STRICTLY Come Dancing host Tess Daly has shocked fans with her bizarre sleeping hack while sharing a bedtime selfie.

Tess looked content as she lay her head on a pillow with some patterned pyjamas on.

She penned to her 824,000 fans: “I know this might look crazy, but there’s method to my madness.”

Tess continued to explain what she was doing, as she added: “It’s mouth taping! A method that helps to encourage nose breathing, for a deeper, more restful sleep.”

The blonde star went on to ask fans if any of them had tried the sleeping method.

Amanda Holden replied, playfully saying: “Chris wishes, he could do that to me most days!”

Another person wrote: “We keep hearing about this, and a friend swears by it!”

A third penned: “I need this, as soon as I lie down in bed I cannot breathe through my nose, so I sleep with my mouth open. My husband says I sound like Darth Vader.”

Someone else didn’t like the look of it, as they shared: “That instantly makes me feel anxious.”

Another wrote: “I wouldn’t be able to do this with my hay fever allergies. I can’t breathe through my nose properly lol.”

Tess’ bizarre new method comes after the Strictly favourite opened up on nearly suffering from “burnout” after the birth of her first child.

She revealed breastfeeding Phoebe while recovering from a C-section, and co-presenting the second series of the hit BBC show in 2005 alongside the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, pushed her to the brink.

The 54-year-old said: “That was the closest I’ve ever come to burnout.

"I was lucky that I had a job to go back to, because the industry I work in is incredibly fickle.

“But breastfeeding and live television are not the easiest things to manage, and on top of that the sleep deprivation was intense and debilitating.

“Although I managed to do my job and be a mother to my baby, I was exhausted.”

The mother-of-two, who is married to Radio 2 host Vernon Kay, told Psychologies Magazine that she was left feeling out of her usual headspace by struggles she was not used to experiencing.

She went on: “Everything was difficult and ready to swing me off kilter.

“I was working at a high energy and giving everything to my baby, and nothing was being replenished.”
