TWO women have appeared in court charged with manslaughter and child neglect after the death of a two-year-old girl.
Toddler Masie Lomax-Newton, from Atherton, Wigan, died at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in December 2021, leading to police launching an investigation.

Emma Lomax-Newton, 29, and Cindy Molyneux, 51, appeared on Wednesday at Wigan Magistrates’ Court.
Both women, from Wigan, are charged with child neglect and Maisie’s manslaughter.
All the alleged offences took place between November 7, 2021 and December 2, 2021.

The women did not enter any pleas and the case was sent to Bolton Crown Court where they will next appear on July 12.
Both were given unconditional bail.
An inquest into Maisie’s death was opened at Bolton Coroner’s Court in February this year.
