PRESENTER Laura Woods sensationally mocked a vile sexist troll with a brilliant comeback on social media.

The talkSPORT host, 35, congratulated Sheffield Wednesday on Twitter following their remarkable play-off victory on Thursday evening.

Darren Moore's men came from 4-0 down after the first leg of their tie against Peterborough to level it up at 5-5, before winning on penalties.

And Woods tweeted: "That’s unbelievable ????????????????????????#SheffieldWednesday."

Disgustingly, one online troll - who says he is a Peterborough fan on his bio - replied to her post by saying: "Sl*t."

But Woods needed just five minutes to form the perfect response.

The quick-witted sports broadcaster said: "Except it’s you that’s been bent over tonight eh."

The comeback left her followers in hysterics as they poured in to praise the presenter.

One said: "That's a better comeback than Sheffield Wednesday's."

Another added: "And the winner by TKO, Laura Wooooooods."

And a third replied: "Awesome response, fair play."

Meanwhile, Woods, who can be seen on Sky Sports and ITV, is being linked with a move to BT Sport following the announcement that Jake Humphrey is leaving his position.

On Friday afternoon, Humphrey, 44, who anchors their Champions League coverage, tweeted: "After 10 wonderful years, I am stepping back from BT. As a football fan, hosting Premier League matches, FA Cup games and European Finals has meant the world to me. It has been my dream job.

"I’ve loved being a very small part of a world class production team.

"I also feel blessed to have shared the screen with legends of the game and incredible broadcasters, who have become friends. Thank you all.

"Stepping back from BT will allow me space to pursue other projects and fulfil other ambitions. I'm excited. To everyone that's watched and commented, both good and bad (!), thank you!"
