UGO GREGORY (3.10) can land a fourth course and distance victory in the Give Racing A Try Handicap at Beverley.
Tim Easterby’s commendable seven-year-old may not have won since scoring in a seven furlong York handicap in October 2021, but he rarely runs a bad race.
He put in a fine run at this same course over an extended mile on his second outing this term, finishing second from a bad draw, and he again ran well to finish fourth 15 days ago over the same trip, putting in his best work at the finish.
The gelding has been given a good draw this time as his handler, who has hit form, steps him back over seven furlongs. From a competitive mark, he is sure to run a big race.
HOSTELRY (4.40) is another to come good at the right time for her trainer Ruth Carr, and a quick-fire double looks on the cards in the Hull FC Rugby League Takeover Day Handicap.
The six-year-old led on the line to win at Ayr a week ago over the same mile trip, and with a good 7lb claimer taking the weight rise off her back, she will be a major factor.
