A PASSENGER has been left fuming after a flight attendant woke him up on a plane - but everyone is saying the same thing.

The man was on a flight with airline Asiana after a long work trip when the incident happened.

The man took to Reddit to share his experience with fellow holiday makers.

During a flight back from a long work trip, the passenger reclined his seat in hopes of having some missed sleep.

But what should have been a quiet journey ended in a seat row when a flight attendant woke him up.

He said: "I was on an Asiana flight yesterday after a long work trip that afforded me very little sleep.

"Planned to catch up on sleep on the flight and was completely engaged in high altitude hibernation when I was aggressively woken up."

The man was left in shock when he was asked to "return his seat to the fully upright position during mealtime".

He fumed: "While I understand it can be a bit annoying to have your tray at a slight angle.

"I have never found it to prevent me from eating and would never consider requesting a flight attendant to disturb the person in front of me.

"Should it really be my responsibility to adjust my seat based on the preferences of the person behind me?"

Despite trying to ignore the request, he claimed that the flight attendant came over and pressed both the button and the back of his seat until it was vertical.

The post has now amassed dozens of comments from other users who shared their opinions.

Many agreed with the flight attendant and said that raising the seat during mealtimes is part of the airline policy.

One user said: "I fly Asiana and when the seat is reclined back it makes eating hard because the tray is much closer to you. Don't be an a**ehole."

Another added: "Every flight I’ve ever been on, you are expected to have your seat fully upright for meals."

However, other users slammed the flight attendant for the "annoying" request.

One user blasted: "A few degrees difference doesn't prohibit the person behind you from being able to eat.

"I can't understand this trend of being p***ed off with people for utilising their seat that they have paid for.

"Air travel is awful, that one little comfort shouldn't be denied."

Another added: "The seats are designed in such a way that the reclining position should not impede the tray being used on the other side.

"The flight attendant was being an a**."

It comes as another passenger revealed how he witnessed an argument on a plane over a reclining seat that at one point resulted in one man punching another person's seat.

Josh Martin was on a flight from Havana to Madrid when the incident took place over the Caribbean Sea.

Meanwhile, a flight expert explained the magic phrase guaranteed to stop the person in front from reclining their plain seat.

Sun Online Travel's resident flight attendant explained that if you tell the cabin crew you need to stretch out for a medical condition, they will ask the people in front to put their seat back up, or move you elsewhere.
