Helen Skelton and Michelle Ackerley will become Morning Live's permanent presenters.

They will each alternate hosting the programme alongside stalwart Gethin Jones from Monday to Wednesdays.

Speaking about the new changes, Helen Skelton said: “I am so excited to become a more regular member of the Morning Live family, and be in such good company! It’s really nice to be part of a programme giving so many people a voice."

Michelle Ackerley added: “I’ve known Geth and Helen for a long time now and believe or not, Helen and I used to flat share back in the day! To do this all in my home town of Manchester is a dream!”

Sara Cox, Kimberley Walsh, Gaby Roslin and Rav Wilding will also pop up on screen from time-to-time.

Fans of former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh needn't worry as she'll remain on screen, presenting on Thursdays.

Beeb bosses have also announced the show is getting a huge extension and will now run for a whopping 75 minutes.

From next month Morning Live will kick off in its new timeslot of 9:30am and will stay on air until 10:45am.

It will mean the show will go directly up against ITV's This Morning for the first time.

The programme's extension comes after it was recently announced BBC Breakfast would run for an extra 15 minutes each day.

For now Morning Live airs weekdays from 9:15am on BBC One and iPlayer.
