On Bargain Hunt, they wanted to gain some extra cash and at the eleventh-hour, the TV personality revealed the bonus buy.

TV presenter Natasha Raskin Sharp couldn't help but exclaim: "Of course, David Harper could well be your saviour, don't leave them waiting. He is ready, are you ready for it?"

As he revealed the item, he explained: "You will recognise this instantly. It is the mother of pearl, it is silver, it is dated 1929 and everybody should have one in their home to peel their oranges.

"£50, but I have never seen one before and I think it is a little beasty! I think it would do well!"

It was then taken to auction where it the starting price for the orange peeler was already a substantial amount.

Pointing to one guest the auctioneer hurriedly asked: "Round it up to a nice 50 sir, round it up to a nice £50. £50 he does! He rounds it up nicely to £50."

The bid was raised by £10 pounds as Nastasha was left practically jumping as the price climbed higher and higher.

Back at the auction, things were heating up as the clerk brought the price up even higher.

"I know you want this in your life, go on! £60 it is, it will make David's day... £70 yes!", he shouted.

"£70 it is, at £70! Any advance at £70 I have. It's a room bidder at £70 once, its a room bidder at £70 twice, please come back because it is a fabulous item."

At £70 the orange peeler was sold, which left the team celebrating the extra £20 that was added to the total.

However the buyer's wife looked far from impressed at the new kitchen purchase.

And fans were left in hysterics as they watched the reaction from the married couple.

And a fourth fan added: "Well the experts have redeemed themselves then #bargainhunt."
