Speaking about the new show, Richard, 54, said: "I’m so excited to be launching this new podcast with my wonderful daughter, Izzy.

"After my accident in 2006, I spent a lot of time looking out of my hospital window, questioning my emotions, thoughts, life decisions, you name it. Ever since I’ve been on a pretty big journey of self-discovery.

"Some (Izzy certainly) might call it a mid-life crisis... but what does that even mean? That's exactly the kind of thing we are going to delve into in the podcast.

"We can’t wait for you to hear what we’ve got lined up - expect lots of openness, laughs, Izzy putting me in my place and more."

Richard first hosted Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson and James May in 2002 until 2015 when all three departed the BBC and moved to Prime Video.

In 2006 he suffered a serious crash during a daredevil stunt filmed for the former Beeb programme in York.

One of the tyres blew on the Vampire jet car which caused it to spin out of control and resulted in the terrifying crash which landed the star in a coma and caused him to suffer from a frontal lobe brain injury.

Since the incident, Richard has openly spoke about the impact the crash has had on him with it even affecting his family life.

Speaking to LadBible, Richard revealed he suffers from 'lost key syndrome' and has done for the past 18 years.

It has sparked worry for Richard that he could even be diagnosed with early onset dementia as a result of the trauma to his brain.
