Netflix have recently released a host of new shows which include the rom-com, One Day as well as a new instalment of Love Is Blind.

But the new series titled, 'Can I Tell You A Secret' shows just how bad the crime of cyber-stalking really is.

According to the synopsis of the series: "Three women's lives are changed forever when a prolific stalker infiltrates their social media accounts. And they're only a fraction of his many victims."

The series was produced by legendary documentary maker Louis Theroux and it documents the case of Matthew Hardy.

Back in 2011, he was found guilty of threatening a group of terrified women online, who were subjected to severe mental distress.

After a high-profile court case, was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Over a decade after he was thrown behind bars, some of the victims have spoken about their struggles after they were put trough turmoil over a period of two years.

The series also featured other relevant personnel which includes police testimonials, and analysis from Hardy's school friends.

One of women in the show is named Gina Martin, and she opened up on her experience.

She revealed: "He would use the same picture as my actual account. He would strike up conversations with people, spreading rumours and lies.

"He has caused such damage to people, relationships have been completely severed."

She added: "He said one of his other victims was sleeping with her mum's brother."

Viewers took to X - formerly known as Twitter - in their droves after they were left terrified by the new programme.
