P. Diddy's son has hired a lawyer after the raid on the rapper's home

Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs sons hired the former lawyer of mobsters after they were detained by federal officials.

Last week, the Department of Homeland Security raided Diddy's Los Angeles and Miami homes. At the LA home, Christian and Justin Combs were detained, but Diddy insists that his sons nor himself have been arrested. Following what Diddy's lawyer claimed to be a "gross overuse of military-level force," one of Diddy's sons lawyered up, tapping Jeffrey Lichtman as his attorney.

Jeffrey confirmed the news on Instagram while promoting his podcast Beyond the Legal Limit With Jeffrey Lichtman. He wrote: "I also give my thoughts on the over the top searches of Sean Combs' two homes and reveal that I’ve been hired to represent P. Diddy’s son. The government rarely fights fair when they have a major target in its sights and they certainly haven’t played fair in Diddy’s case thus far."

Jeffrey is a big wig in the legal world, representing mobsters El Chapo and John Gotti Jr. While El Chapo was found guilty of 10 counts in February 2019, Jeffrey secured a dismissal of three charges of murder conspiracy against Gotti and an acquittal in relation to a $25million (£19.7million) securities fraud charge. As for his additional charges, the cases ended in a hung jury.

Jeffrey has also represented big names in Hollywood before, including rappers The Game, Kay Flock, and Fat Joe. He also secured an acquittal for WPIX television reporter Vince DeMentri.

Misa Hylton, Justin and Christian's mother, shared her dismay at the news of the raids and shared additional footage. She wrote: "The over zealous and overtly militarized force used against my sons Justin and Christian [King] is deplorable. If these were the sons of a non-Black celebrity, they would not have been handled with the same aggression."

Officials confirmed that the raid of the homes was linked to a human trafficking investigation, but did not provide additional details to the press. Diddy was previously slammed with five unrelated civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault. He has denied all accusations.

In regards to the raid on his home, his attorney told The Mirror in a statement: "Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities.

"Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way. This unprecedented ambush -- paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence -- leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”
