AFTER a string of property disasters, Kevin McCloud reveals 'what upsets him more than anything else'.
The Grand Designs has opened up on what exactly gets his goat when it comes to renovating a home.
The Channel 4 series shows Kevin, 64, as he pays a visit to all different building project sites.
He works with the owners on the individual houses from the early blueprint stages all the way to the completion of the house.
Over the 25 years since the programme had been on air, he had borne witness to a range of disasters.

Throughout the history of the show, he had a front row seat to a marriage breakdown over a disastrous project.
He also saw mounting bills which lead to the abandonment of a home as well as couples who were plunged into debt which sometimes went into the thousands.
Despite this, he has now spoken out about his own gripes when it comes to top renovations.
Kevin admitted that he hates when projects change over time where the result is almost beyond recognition, particularly when it comes to old buildings.
Speaking to The Metro, he explained: ‘The things that upset me perhaps more than anything else is when the original objective [falls by the wayside].
"If the finished building is a weak imitation or a poor relation of the proposal, then that’s disappointing because the finished building ought to be better, not worse.
"Occasionally, you just see where things have gone wrong; it’s usually because of financial problems. People hadn’t budgeted for things, and they run out of cash, and things get horribly compromised.
"And so you see beauty literally being torn apart before your eyes. And that’s difficult, particularly with old buildings."
Next month, Kevin will appear at the home exhibition of Grand Designs Live.
Ahead of the huge new show, he has also revealed his best advice for those who are looking to begin a home-renovation project.

He explained: "I’ve felt for about 40 years that if you want to do something do it with passion. Don’t do it because your neighbours have done it and don’t do it because you think you should do it.
"So my advice to anybody wanting to add value to their home is don’t make it look like everybody else’s.
"Any estate agent will say paint the whole thing some fashionable colour but what I will say is paint it whatever colour you want and you love that will make you happy."
