Alex Jones is enjoying her time off work, with BBC presenter soaking up the sun on one of the Canary islands.
The Welsh TV star, 47, announced she was taking a well-deserved break from The One Show earlier this week, posing for a selfie as she told her Instagram followers: "The face of a woman who is off on holiday....... Thank you for watching this week and especially for all the lovely comments about last night's One, big thank you."
Returning to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Alex revealed how she was spending her time off. In the first of a series of snaps, Alex shared a snap of her holiday read as she flicked through a book on a beach in Lanzarote, before sharing picture in "full mam mode" alongside her two sons.
The stunning star then channelled her inner Baywatch babe as she emerged from the sea in a chic red swimsuit and posed on Nr Papagayo beach - sharing the scenic snap with her 354,000 followers on Instagram.
Earlier in the year, Alex opened up about the bittersweet feelings of watching her children grow up too quickly. The doting mum, who has three kids - Teddy, seven, Kit, four, and a two-year-old daughter with husband Charlie Thomson - celebrated Teddy's birthday with a fun-filled party and shared moments from the celebration on her social media.
Happy Valley's James Norton teases Tommy's 'deep hatred' in final seriesAlex also shared a picture of party balloons in their family home - a gargantuan silver '7' floating buoyantly beside a massive footy-inspired balloon. The dutiful mum didn't hold back her sentiments when she posted the balloon picture on Instagram Stories in January, suggesting that she was finding it tough to come to terms with her eldest child growing up so swiftly.
After captioning the balloon pic with "The years are flying by", the telly celebrity took the moment to share a deeply heartfelt message as she reflected on the swift flight of the past seven years since becoming a mum. Talking directly to her numerous followers, Alex started off by saying, "Hello. Happy Monday. I've come out for a little walk."
Settling herself comfortably in the glow of the sunlight and sheltering behind a large pair of sunnies, she carried on, "I'm just sitting here enjoying the view. But I feel really reflective and I think it's because Ted turns seven today and we had a party with all his class yesterday and it was brilliant but it was chaotic. You don't really absorb anything."
Inhaling deeply for calm, Alex continued, "I've just sat here looking at the clouds drift by thinking, wow. They always tell you to cherish the moments and hang tight. Their childhood simply whizzes by - but you obviously do. You grip onto it tightly yet there's zilch you can do about it to halt the passage of time. This is very introspective, and incredibly deep for me. I just surmised that a lot of other parents would probably relate."
