The format was launched by Beeb bosses in 2022 and instantly became a hit with fans.

It sees a group of contestants take turns to cross a digital floor that gradually displays both correct and incorrect answers for a particular category.

Contestants try to step on only correct answers during the game to avoid falling off and could go home empty-handed.

Stars competing in the celebrity edition of the daytime series include Dion Dublin, Sam Quek, Melvin Odoom and Joanna Page.

Also set to appear later in the run are Sinitta, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Ritchie Neville and Una Healy.

Daytime and soap fans will also be treated to a TV crossover as Morning Live's Gethin Jones, Dr Ranj Singh, Anna Haugh and Briony May Williams will appear.

Taking part from the world of soap is Chris Bisson, Lucy-Jo Hudson, Simon Gregson and Danielle Harold.

Speaking about the celeb special, Ross Kemp said: "I have such a brilliant time filming the daytime version of Bridge of Lies, but there’s something about the celebrity series that ramps the jeopardy up a gear.

"Maybe it’s the fact that the celebs are doing it for charity… or simply that they have reputations to uphold!"

The 59-year-old added: “This year’s series is filled with big personalities and the competition is fiercer than ever.

"The usual rivalries between popstars, soap stars and comics are left at the door because, as we’ve learned with this show, the only way you can conquer the bridge is by working effectively as a team. But remember celebrities, it’s Saturday night – so let’s have some fun too!”

Celebrity Bridge of Lies comes to BBC One and iPlayer at 5:40pm on Saturday 6 April while Bridge of Lies continues weekdays at 4:30pm.
