Former A Place in the Sun star Danni Menzies quit her job to focus on her relationships, but the star hasn't had much luck with romance.
After six blissful years on the hit Channel 4 show, in 2022 she announced to fans that she was "hanging up her summer dresses". "The show has been such a huge part of my life, and I'd just like to thank and send love to all of the wonderful people I've met on this journey who made it so special," she said.
But in interviews following her exit, she explained that the demanding filming schedule abroad took a toll on her dating life. Speaking to The Sun, she admitted: "It's really hard to get a boyfriend when you're travelling and living out of a suitcase all the time."
Explaining the 'random' shift pattern, the telly star explained that she worked overseas for half the year - with three weeks away and two weeks back in the UK, or it could be one week on and one week off. "It didn't really leave enough time to experience many other things," she added. "I'd go on two dates with someone and be gone for three weeks. That wasn't working. And I missed my dog, I missed my dog so much."

So, I won’t lie about that, it’s been very difficult for me to nail that part of my life. But I am working on it."

The TV presenter hasn't had much luck in the dating department since, and when the 35-year-old appeared on MTV's Celeb Ex in the City back in 2021, she revealed that she had a bizarre experience with an ex. Speaking about the time she was left mortified during a romp with her beau at the time, she confessed: "I’ve only got one thing going through my head. This is awful."
She continued: "I don’t think I can say it. So the first time that somebody told me that they loved me was when they were, they were an actor and they were very dramatic, and they were about to [reach the end] and they went ‘I, I, I, I love you’." Unwilling to reveal the identity of the mystery man, she added: "It’s literally scarred me for life. And now I can’t ever get that out of my head."
Last July, the property expert fuelled romance rumours with Love Island star Jay Younger after they enjoyed a weekend together in Scotland during the summer. The pair also reportedly checked into the Charisma Concept Hotel in Mykonos.
Any romance between them however appeared to quickly sour, and it wasn't long until they'd both unfollowed each other on Instagram. Speaking at the time, Danni shared that she'd been on five dates and appeared to clarify her single status, declaring: "I just want a man and a country house."
A month later, fans got their hopes up that her fortunes had changed, after Danni shared snaps of her playing Monopoly with a mystery topless man during a sunny holiday in Spain. However Danni was quick to dispel any rumours, clarifying that the bloke in question was just a pal. Taking to Instagram Stories, Danni wrote: "Everyone thinks you're on [holiday] with your [boyfriend] but actually you're just stranded with your bestie that wants a new Bumble pic."
