EASTENDERS legend Natalie Cassidy has revealed her daughter, seven, hates her soap character Sonia Fowler.

The actress, 41, is one of the most recognisable faces on television screens having appeared in Albert Square for 31 years.

But her youngest daughter Joanie is no fan of the Walford stalwart.

Natalie told Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Spinning Plates podcast: “She’ll go, ‘Mummy… Sonia’s so boring. I just don’t like watching you on here, honestly I just don’t like it.’

“I say, ‘I’ve been there a long time darling, there’s a lot of people who do like me’. She says, ‘Well, I’m not one of them.’ She actually fast forwards my bits, but I don’t know if that’s because I’m her mum or that’s just her take on Sonia.”

Enders is synonymous with dramatic exit storylines and grisly murders, but Sonia doesn't want that for her alter-ego when the time eventually comes to say goodbye.

“One day I’m sure Sonia will end," she said. "I hope she can potter about being a nurse a bit longer. I don’t want her to die a terrible death. I don’t want her to get run over or pushed over at Walford tube station.”

Last month Natalie shared a rare clip of herself enjoying some mother and daughter time with Joanie.

The pair perched at the kitchen table to play a game of Word Bits.

Natalie confessed: "I'm REALLY busy working this week.

"Getting home for 4pm and having a few hours to just sit and be with this one is really special.

"Even if she's cheating."

It preceded the mum-of-two appearing on This Morning where she spoke of her regret at pocketing £100k to front a weight loss video.

She branded the deal a "mistake" and said: "Well, it's my own fault. They offered me a load of money to lose weight and I did it at the time but actually, looking back, it is something I wouldn't do now."

Back in 2022, Natalie appeared on on Grace Dent's podcast Comfort Eating and admitted her crash diet wasn't a health way to lose weight for the long-term.

She said: "I was like happy days, let's go for it. I just thought, that's a lot of money; but it wasn't the right thing to do.

"You are losing a lot of weight in a three or four-month period, twelve or sixteen weeks, low calories and training every day.

"I got there, and as soon as that DVD came out, I ate for England. I put all the weight back on in eight weeks."
