Comedian Jon Richardson cheered on England alongside Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner following his surprise split from Lucy Beaumont.
The 41-year-old joined the Labour leader and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party for a night at the pub watching England's first match at the 2024 Euros. Jon was snapped wearing an England shirt with a pint in hand as he beamed alongside comedian Matt Forde, Keir and Angela. They were in high spirits as England managed to keep hold of their 1-0 lead against Serbia.
Angela shared the snap on her X account as she commented: "Celebrating a vital win with the gaffer. Well done lads!" Earlier this year, Jon announced his shock split from wife of almost a decade Lucy. The former couple shared a statement back in April that said: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways."
"As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy be respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment", they added. The duo first met when they were match-made by fellow comedian Roisin Conaty and got married in April 2015. They welcomed a daughter a year later.
Lucy addressed their split on stage at London's Bloomsbury Theatre a week later as part of her show titled The Trouble and Strife. The words ring ironically as the expression is a British slang term for "wife", prompting Lucy to quip: "I didn’t have time to change the show." Lucy admitted they agreed to go their separate ways "last year" and only revealed the news as a publication allegedly "found out" before their reveal.
Rishi Sunak must be a leader, not just a managerLucy and Jon previously starred in Meet The Richardsons as "exaggerated versions of themselves" from 2020 and a fifth series was dropped on UKTV Play on April 8, 2024. Following Lucy and Jon's divorce news, fans have been wondering if the show could also draw to a close to mark the end of their collaboration, both on and off-screen.
Jon was seen at a family event for children's TV cartoon Bluey, as he was spotted for the first time since his split. The dad-of-one put on a brave face as he attended the global premiere of the special extended Bluey episode, ‘The Sign’. Dressed in head to toe black, Jon posed for pictures ahead of the premiere. He was joined by Call The Midwife star Helen George and JLS star turned farmer, JB Gill. They were joined by EastEnders ' Matt Di Angelo , former Paralympian and TV broadcaster Ade Adepitan, reality TV star and model Bianca Gascoigne and her mum Sheryl Gascoigne.
