Looking for advice on a name for his unborn son, one dad-to-be revealed that he is a fan of a name inspired by a comic book.

However, he revealed that his girlfriend, and everyone else that he has spoken to hates the name.
Taking to Reddit, the father-to-be said: "My girlfriend and I are thinking about baby names.
"I've always wanted to name my first son Thorgal.
"It comes from a comic my grandma used to buy me that mostly sold in France.
"We both come from Normandy, a French region that was established by the Vikings in the 10th century, and so I thought a Viking name would make some sense.
"However, my girlfriend hates it and most people I asked, do too.
"So I would like your opinion to know if it is that terrible of a name?"
The post was flooded with responses from users, many of whom shared the same opinion as the man's girlfriend.
One person said: "In all honesty, it kind of sounds like an infection or even an alternative name for Gollum".
A second person said: "Do not give your child this awful name.

"It sounds like it belongs to an ogre in a children’s book. "
A third said: "It sounds like a plague"
A fourth said: "It sounds like a fungal cream for Athlete’s Foot."
A fifth added: "It's an awful name. You can find a better Viking name."
A sixth chimed in: "No, it's really ugly. Don't do this."
