Premier League cult hero, 42, wakes up unemployed but determined to keep playing

A PREMIER LEAGUE cult hero is revealed they are "ready for an adventure" at the age of 42.

The 83-cap Norway international played in England between 2004 and 2013.

Their exploits with Blackburn saw them playing all over the pitch during a distinguished nine-year career with them.

They made 348 appearances for Rovers, including 259 in the top flight after being signed by Graeme Souness.

He managed 34 goals in the Premier League across that period, while also chipping in with 41 assists.

A stunning left-footed volley against Fulham in August 2005 saw him land the Match of the Day Goal of the Month award.

His time with Blackburn saw him help the club reach two FA Cup and two League Cup semi-finals.

The star left Ewood Park to join Turkish club Karabükspor a year after Blackburn were relegated to the Championship.

They then returned to Norway in 2014 with Rosenborg.

Spells with boyhood club Tromsø, Alta, Asane then followed before a short spell away from the game in 2023.

He was then picked up by second-tier side Ranheim which has taken his career total appearances up to a whopping 657 games.

And despite becoming a free agent, the veteran is still determined to carry on at the age of 42.

He has not been devoid of offers either, with a sensational one coming all the way from Senegal.

But it seems Pedersen will follow his heart over his next challenge, adding: "I don’t think about the money!"

In March 2023, Pedersen revealed he was open to returning to England with Wrexham.

He told SPORTBible: "Yeah, I would love to.

"Why not? Of course. Maybe if you tag me in a social media post, Ryan Reynolds could read this, and we get a chance to meet."
