THE Great British Sewing Bee viewers were left shocked by a contestant who had a "meltdown" and broke down in tears during the latest episode.
The BBC One reality show sees amateur sewers vying to be The Great British Sewing Bee champ.
Each week they are given three tasks – the pattern challenge, transformation challenge and finally the made to measure.
The garments are judged by Patrick Grant and Esme Young with one sewer eliminated each week.
Video game designer Catherine, was given the task of making a dress. But things quickly took a dramatic turn.

During the task, Catherine said: "Oh fudge! I want more than five minutes."
She was the most behind in her outfit because she was having trouble making channels in the material and sewing the elastic.
"You can't wear this!" she cried, teary-eyed, as she sat down in a corner while trying to dress her model.
"My model can't wear it. It's going to look awful," she continued, until she was offered assistance in putting the dress in place.
Judge Paddy Grant then saw how emotional Catherine was and he comforted her by giving her a big hug.
Viewers were left stunned at Catherine's "meltdown" during the task, and also pointed out a fault in the show - as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One wrote: "Oh no! I think the pressure just got to her, poor thing."
A second penned: "Watching someone struggle shows the issue with this format - an arbitrary time limit is always going to be problematic for some."
A third added: "Having a meltdown might be worth it if Patrick hugs you."
A fourth wrote: "Bless her! Glad he hugged her."
