SHATTERED shoppers are coming to terms with a longstanding DIY store leaving their community after a three-decade run.
The shop was a renowned retailer and part of a major 150-branch home and gardening company - but the landlord wants to take the site in a different direction.

It's understood the closure came following the landlord's plans to transform the site into two separate units, leaving the company saddened in being forced to depart.
The retailer offered a variety of indoor furniture, paint, tolls and ideas and advice, along with gardening goods.

Angelika Buszko Estate Agent posted to Facebook: "Store closing down = big sales.
"Anyone undergoing a home refurb or just fancy a nice new lamp or garden pots? All in discounted prices 10%-50%!!"
It's insisted that Homebase wasn't struggling with business, but rather fell victim to the site owner's plans.
On Google reviews, shoppers praised the affordability.
One woman wrote: "You can get almost anything delivered to your home here at affordable prices.
Another said: "Brighten Up Your Garden for Less! Great news for garden enthusiasts."
A third added: "Brilliant. Got this lovely tree at an affordable price a few days before Christmas. Made the Christmas a special one."
But in recent times other shoppers started to complain about a lack of stock.
Ian Davies said: "Hardly any stock."
Robbie Williams poised to launch his own brand of energy drinks to rival PrimeSteve Biggs agreed: "The selection isn't as good as it was. I used to shop here for convenience, but now there are better options in town."
The Northhampton Chronicle previously reported that plans were submitted to give the Homebase site a face-lift, turning it into two units.

What will come into the site as Homebase's replacement remains unclear.
For Homebase lovers in Northampton, it's bleak news.
The Riverside shop was the last remaining of the retailer in the town, after a Sixfields store shut in 2019.
There is now only one Homebase standing in the broader Northamptonshire county - at Abby Retail Park in Daventry.
Other Homebase stores recently closed down include: Marsh Mills Retail Park, Plymouth (November), Southam Road, Banbury (November) and Finchley Road, London (December).
