It sent shockwaves through London when the characters all heard politician Enoch Powell's disturbing Rivers of Blood speech which strongly criticised immigration from Commonwealth countries and the proposed Race Relations Act.

The speech left Nurse Lucille Robinson played by Leonie Elliott, stunned as she found it difficult being away from home.

Things suddenly took a turn for the worse - as the latest episode saw Lucille have a mental breakdown which led to her stepping away from her duties.
