A POPULAR BBC thriller will come to an end after its third season.
Award-winning Guilt won't be returning to telly screens after the third and final instalment, leaving an army of loyal fans gutted.
The comedy-drama stars Mark Bonnar and Jamie Sives as brothers Max and Jake.
Edinburgh-born Mark is no stranger to a cliffhanger, after playing bent copper Michael Dryden in the Beeb's Line of Duty.
Guilt tells the tale of two very different Scottish brothers and their frantic bid to evade justice after killing an elderly man.

The final part of the trilogy sees the duo battle old enemies, causing them to seek ever more desperate solutions to their problems.
Also appearing in the star-studded cast are Sara Vickers and Henry Pettigrew
Netflix buffs will know the pair better from controversial royal drama The Crown, in supporting roles as the Queen's governess Marion Crawford and astronaut Neil Armstrong.
And Emun Elliot makes a return, we recently revealed the Scots actor looked worlds away from his character in Beeb drama The Gold.
BBC boss Louise Thornton commented: “We are incredibly proud of Guilt.
It was the first drama commission for the BBC Scotland channel in 2019 and we have been delighted with how it has been received by our audiences.
"To be able to bring it back for a third and final time gives us the chance to wrap up the story of Max and Jake which we know will involve some hair-raising and edge-of-the-seat moments that the audience has come to expect.”
And gutted fans flocked to social media with an outpouring of comments.
One said: "This is so sad to hear! Such an amazing show!"
Another added: "One of my favourite series. Gutted. So brilliantly written and great performances from everyone."

Guilt isn't the only show to be pulled off the box in recent months.
Comedian Katherine Ryan's talent show All That Glitters has also been dropped from BBC schedules.
However telly buffs will be spoiled for choice in the coming months, with a string of new shows hitting TV screens.
Including hit BBC comedy series Inside No.9 which confirmed the return date for its eighth series and released a first-look trailer.
